Obituary of Peter Andrew McLarty

We are saddened by the sudden passing of Peter Andrew McLarty on January 7th, 2024.  Peter was born in London, Ontario on November 22, 1969, the youngest of five children born to James and Mary McLarty.

Peter’s older siblings tried unsuccessfully to encourage their mom to have another girl so that they could be just like the Brady Bunch, but to no avail. Somehow Peter managed to cheerfully navigate being the perpetual baby of the family.

He was always a happy kid, enjoying time with family at the cottage in Haliburton, with Beavers and Cubs and his schoolmates, and gathering neighbourhood kids together for hide and seek and other games. He enjoyed swimming and worked as a lifeguard in his youth at McMurchy Pool in Brampton. He was always moving, and loved sports, developing a life-long love of baseball and hockey, making many great friends playing in community adult leagues.

Along the way he found the love of his life and best friend in Carol Manwell when working in Ottawa. After seven years together, they finally took the plunge and married on May 7, 1999 and never looked back.

Peter was always interested in process and found his niche in business solutions and marketing, most recently serving as President of TFP Canada.

Peter is survived by his loving wife Carol, his siblings David, Elizabeth (Halfkenny), Robert, and Susanne, his stepmother Patricia, nieces Kayla, Lauren, Hailey, Sarah, and Grace, nephew Noah, and their families. He is predeceased by his parents, Mary Margaret McLarty (nee LeJeune) and James Gordon McLarty.

He will be dearly missed.
