Obituary of William Bowie

William (Bill) Bowie, 81, passed away on Thursday August 10, 2017 at Markham Stouffville Hospital. After a long battle with PSP, Bill succumbed to his illness surrounded by his loving family. Bill leaves his loving wife of 58 years, Ina (Russell) Bowie, his daughters Elaine (Brent), Barb (Tim) and Linda (Paul) and his grandchildren, Charlie and Samantha. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth and nephew Brian. Born in Scotland and although always a true Scotsman, Bill moved to Canada with Ina and his two daughters, Elaine and Barb, to seek new opportunities. After moving to Canada, his third daughter Linda was born. Bill settled in Markham with his family and enjoyed a successful career as an Electrician at Sony Music Canada. Upon retirement, Bill enjoyed travelling and many hobbies including curling and lawn bowling. He could always be found outside enjoying his pool, gardening and tending to his beautiful lawn that rarely had a blade of grass out of place! Bill will always be remembered for his humble and caring nature and his wonderful sense of humour. Thank you for being the best Husband, Dad and Papa a family could ever wish for. You will be missed more than words can say. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday August 14, 2017 @ 11am at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 143 Main Street N. Markham.
