Obituary of Alexander Peters
Dr. Alexander Pajkovich Peters died peacefully on October 23, 2016, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. With devotion and care, he practised medicine in Toronto for more than 50 years, impacting the lives of so many. He further pursued a passion for teaching through mentoring medical students and was twice awarded the University of Toronto's prestigious Undergraduate Teaching Award for Excellence. Alexander can be best described as a man with a keen intellect and sharp sense of humour. His hobbies included mastering the subject of history, engaging in endless hours of chess, acquiring new languages, oil painting, gardening, golfing and cooking pasta dishes which he devoured with relish. To all the wonderful friends and colleagues who offered so much support during my father's illness, the Peters family sends its many thanks. His passing leaves an unimaginable void in the lives of his wife, Dagmara, and children (with spouses): Natalie (Doug), Andre (Lisa) and Alexandra (Eli). Above all, our Papa will be missed by his grandchildren: Sophie, Charlotte, Dagmara (Jr.), Alec and Armin. May they forever hold dear his characteristic humour, strong hugs, limitless adoration and unwavering commitment to family. Počivaj u miru dragi prijatelju; rest well dear friend.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, TBA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to cancer research.
