Roger, I only met your dad once, but in that one meeting he was a kind and thoughtful and very easy to chat with. He had a great life and Kelly & Kyle were so lucky to have such a great granddad. You are all in my thoughts and prayers in these days ahead.

John was a special light in our family. A cherished companion of our mother, and a treasure to all of us, John's wit, humour and gentle kindness was constant at every family gathering. He will be dearly missed.

My cousin John was the big brother I never had. As a small child during the war he was my inspiration. There was always something interesting when John was around. I treasured my time in Toronto in 1959/60 when John & Pat made me so welcome. Although much of our lives were spent on opposite sides of the globe we always managed to get together now and then. John visited NZ on 2 happy occasions and saw more of the country than the average New Zealander. We will miss him greatly and his smiling face. Our condolences to Roger and all the family Valerie, John, Andrew & Sarah from New Zealand
