Obituary of Bonnie Atkins

Atkins, Bonnie May. Peacefully passed away after a brave battle, surrounded by her family at home on April 26th 2016, a week after having celebrated her 52nd birthday. Devoted wife of Beatrice Volino. Loving mother of Samuel Atkins and Cheyenne Volino (Douglas). Proud grandmother of Lilyanna and Jaiden. Beloved sister of Thomas and James (Andrew). Adoring aunt of Joseph, Trevor, Megan, Madeleine and Kaitlyn. Deeply missed by her in laws, Monika and Mario, Petra (Jason and Elle) and Mark (Julie, Leah and Erin). Predeceased by her parents, Roy and Helen and her sister, Jayme. Survived by her brother in law, Ralph. Also lovingly remembered by her many close relatives, friends, colleagues, community and church members. Bonnie was an inspiration to others through her compassion, generosity, kindness, optimism and determination, she was a light and inspiration for all she met. Friends will be received at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home 166 Main St. North (Markham Rd.) Markham on Thursday, April 28th from 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 29th at St. Andrew's United Church 32 Main St. N, Markham L3P 1X5, at 2 pm. Reception will follow at St. Andrew's United Church. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Markham-Stouffville Hospital or SCAW (Sleeping Children Around the World).
