Jake, so sorry about your loss. Regards to all your family. I have the fondest recollections of you arriving at our house in your high school days, in a much more interesting mode of transportation than Henning who had to contend with my VW Golf. I knew then that this interest in cars was from your Dad.

Bert was a great friend with an amazing sense of humor! Oh how we will miss him. Could not wish for him to go on suffering, and know he is in a better pace now. We have 10 years of boating memories to cherish.

Dear Roz and Family. We are so very sorry in the loss of Bert. It was very obvious what a great husband, father and grandfather that he was. We always enjoyed seeing him at the marina. He always had a smile and a story for us, and he never complained that he was ill. He will be deeply missed by many.

I met Bert in the early 80's when I joined F.W. Horner as a Rep where we were in the same Division working for the same manager. Bert was someone I could have always depended on, and we shared the good, the bad, and the ugly as colleagues.
When Bert left F.W. Horner to work for Novopharm, I was like a fish out of water, and one day while I was on my territory working with my F.W. Horner manager who was also Bert's former manager, Bert came up and in the presence of my manager said, "Rasheed, I have a job for you at Novopharm, and will ask Mr. Leslie Dan to call you". Lo and Behold, Leslie did call me and said that I was highly recommended by Bert and offered me an export position at Novopharm.
I then joined Novopharm and Bert eventually became my manager for a domestic territory, while my main emphasis was the export markets. I am indebted to Bert as this was the break I needed that enabled me to gain the knowledge and expertise in the export pharmaceutical business. Bert was the turning point in my life that made me successful in my pharmaceutical export company subsequent to leaving Novopharm / Teva.
I will always have Bert in my heart and remember him in my prayers, and my sincerest condolences go out to Rosie, Jennifer, Jacob, and the rest of the family. We love you all.

Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. Rose we will miss seeing you and Bert coming in and out of the marina in Sass-Sea and chugging around the lake. We hope he has the boat of his dreams up in heaven and taking everyone on boating trips. Take care, see you in the spring. "Call To The Bar"

When I read of your sad loss it brought me to mind the day I quit smoking at Teva (Novopharm) about 24 years ago working on the reception desk, I was literally in tears and couldn't handle the huge stress of giving up the cigarette.
You came to the desk and asked me what was wrong, I told you that I was having a hard time quitting smoking, You handed me a square of nicotene gum which I placed in my top drawer. I was successful in quitting and showed you that piece of Nicotene one year later. On a daily basis I opened up the drawer to glance at the piece of gum you had given me. I quit 24 years ago and I am still a non-smoker today.
A kind moment I will never forget Bert,
Sadly in November 2011 I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer, I asked how did I get this Cancer and Toronto General Hospital told me it was my many years of smoking, Even though I had quit 22 years years earlier my nasty habit haunted me. Fortunately I am a Cancer Survivor to this day after many sessions of Chemo and Radiation.
RIP Bert and thank you for caring.

Oh how I will miss that famous Mustache!!! The countless hours of hiding in the closet when I was a kid to avoid the "picky" kisses!!! Never thought I would say this but boy oh boy will I miss that Mustache--- you are probably laughing up there!
Uncle Bert, I am so happy to hear you don't have to suffer anymore. It breaks my heart to know you have left such a beautiful family behind with your wonderful memories.
I will always love my uncle Bert and just think you got reunited with a good man up there! I am sure you two are just laughing away and playing cards ;)
To the Bergen family , my thoughts are with you today xo
Love Always

Mrs B (Jen, Jake and family), Sending my love, prayers and comforting hugs. Mr. B was my second dad growing up. He gave me unconditional love and the occasional (much needed) stern advice at a time in my life when I needed it so much. I spent more time at your house then I ever did at mine and I owe much of my success today to your parenting. I will cherish my childhood memories of him and your family forever. His MC speech at my wedding was one I will never forget. Not to mention him starting it off with "hello everyone. My name is Bert, and I'm an alcoholic....oh wait a minute, wrong place". His humour, intelligence, kind heartedness and love of life will be remembered with fondness always. Rest in peace, Mr. B. May you fly with the angels and wrap your joyous spirit around your loved ones as they grieve, and one day soon, find it a little easier to laugh and feel joy in their memories of you. XO

Dear Rose, Jennifer and Jacob Janice and I were very sorry to hear of the news this week. We have fondly reflected on all of the good days back in Waterloo, where this all started. It certainly was my honor to have worked with Bert - he certainly was a mentor for me in my sales career. He taught a number of his team the unwritten rules of success, to be truthful and honest, but to be a little creative. It was my pleasure to have been on that team for that journey. Please accept our deepest condolences at this time. Brian and Janice Walsh
