Obituary of John Storey

Storey, John - Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully surrounded by his family on October 9, 2015 at Markham-Stouffville Hospital. Beloved husband of Joyce for 59 years. Loving father of Rob (Patricia), Deanne Belo (Dave). Cherished grandfather of Cassandra (Christopher), Jonathan, Melissa, Sarah, and Steven. Brother of the late Laura Crowe (late Bob), Bob (late Irene), and Doreen Byers (late Clifford), all of Peterborough. As an educator, most of John's career involved working with the Ontario Ministry of Education which included two years in Kenya. John was also passionate about theatre and was an active member of Markham Little Theatre for almost 50 years. John will be missed for his quick wit, sense of humour, love of gardening, and dedication to family. The cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from noon until the Celebration of Life at 2 pm in the Chapel of the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street North, (Markham Rd.). Markham. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the Markham-Stouffville Hospital or the Salvation Army.
