I have had Cadet Kindy in my thoughts for 54 years. The reason I am able to write this note is he saved my life and the life of a friend. 2 boys waiting at a cross walk at Avenue Road and Glengrove in the midst of a winter day in December 1969 or 1970. Cadet Kindy that day was acting as a crossing guard for little kids . We were 10 years old unaware of the car careening out of control sliding towards us. Cadet Kindy saw the car coming pushed us to safety and then was hit by the car. He did recover from his injuries. A 20 year old Police cadet. I remember he was honored with a billboard saying this hero Cadet Kindy saved the lives of two children. I was one of them. It became a front page story in the Globe &Mail, Toronto Star, the Telegram. I am so sorry for your loss. This brakes my heart to read he is no longer with us. RIP hero . I will try to find the pictures of the newspapers. I still have them. My condolences to the family. Sincerely, Peter Dickson

We all were so saddened by the news of Keith's death. He was part of our lives and will be missed by everyone in the office. Try to remember him with the smile on his face that he showed us every time we saw him. My son also remembers when he threatened to give him a penalty just because he was my son. We'll all miss that guy! Harvey Cooperberg, Peggy Kavanagh, Shelley Quesnelle, Karen Francis, Ele Yip-Chuck, Taryn Kobak, Jasper Basconcillo, and Lorne Cooperberg (the hockey player)

Dear Janis, My sincere condolences to you and your family on your loss of Keith. I don't know if you remember me, but I met you in a lab in Markham several years ago. I happened to mention that my husband Keith was on the force and you knew his name. I asked my Keith when I got home about Keith Kindy and he said very nice things about him. We lost Keith in November 2007 and we still miss him so much. We hold these dear men in the highest regard for the jobs they did as police officers and as family men don't we? And we will always love them forever. Warmest regards, Cathie Jackson

I, like many, had the opportunity to know Keith from his 4 Traffic days when I was a young 41 Div. cadet and again later when he was my supervisor at the Morality Bureau. He was always a thoughtful, kind man who could lift the frown from anyone's face. We live in Mexico now and so my contact is sometimes limited with the past but I responded to a request last year on Bernie Nadeau's site and re-connected with Keith. I shared with him how I was now a born again Christian which is what brought my wife and I to Mexico. Keith and I discussed via email many issues, life, death family etc. We had some good talks. I was able to share how Jesus had changed my life and he was responding. My prayer is that Keith accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and is with Him laughing and joking even now. To Keith's family, my deepest sympathy in your loss and may God comfort you in these times of sorrow.

We had the great pleasure of knowing and, on occasion, working with Keith at FSCO. Keith was a real pleasure to know, always quick with a joke or a story, and always incredibly helpful. We are thankful for the laughs and for knowing him. To Keith's family, please know that Keith was always well liked, well respected and will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Way back in 1969 I was one of Keith's Training Officers, He made the job very easy with his ability and eagerness to learn along with his obvious good personality. We became friends for many years, then lost touch. I was very sad to get the news of his passing and know he will be greatly missed. Our condolences to Jan and family.

Lynn and I were shock to learn of Keith's passing. I worked with Keith at 4 District Traffic and 41 Division over the years and enjoyed his pranks aimed at Peter Falkner and Dave Wilson’s expense to name only a few of his targets. Keith always made time for you, an officer and gentleman to say the least. Our circle grows ever smaller, our sincere condolences to Jan and the Kindy Family circle of loved ones that Keith dearly cherished. Lynn & Dave Lowe (retired PC 3066)

Dearest Jan and Kindy clan Please accept our condolences on the loss of Kieth. I have such fond memories of days at 4 traffic, some Halloween parties and 4traffic dances, to Kieth and my long association over many years and many squads. I love the lines about his prankster activities. He was all that and so good at them and he had the best laugh ever even if he was on the re diving end. He was certainly one of the good ones and is taken too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. May you find comfort in the fact that he always lived life full and loved big.

We talked to drunks until they were making sense and then decided to move on. :) Just want the family to know the respect we all felt for Keith and how we understand how tragic his untimely passing is for all of you. God bless

Our earliest memories of the Kindy Family go back 30 years as we, the parents, spent hours watching our young daughters wearing black bathing suits and white caps doing synchro figures. This was not the most exciting pasttime but it made lasting friendships that have endured to this day. Our most recent memory of Keith and Jan was sharing dinner at Andrea's in Bracebridge. We are so sorry we cannot be there for the visitation or service but you will be in our thoughts.

We bought a cottage on Clear Lake. Our first summer we were sitting on the dock and Keith and Jan paddled by (1998) - they stopped and introduced themselves and introduced us to Clear Lake. We forged a friendship that day onward and we are broken-hearted that he left us so early. Jan - please know our thoughts and prayers are with you..now and always.
