Silverthorn, John Herbert (Jack); Aug 22 , 1923 - Feb 25, 2015. Beloved husband and best friend of Dorothy Silverthorn for 67 years. Forever loved and admired by his children Anne Roveda and her husband John, Margy Hay, and John and his wife Sharon. Best Grandpa ever to Mandy (Gary Hillis), Katy (Scott ABrown) and Lucas Roveda, Meagan (Ryan Petis) and Michael Hay, and Jake and Jaime Silverthorn. Great grandpa to Kyra Brown. Dear brother of Loreen Snyder. Predeceased by his siblings Byron and Kathleen.Chartered Accountant and longtime employee of Ontario Hydro and proud member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 66 Pipes and Drums. A man of the highest moral standards, he was a master musician, jovial jokester, patient fisherman, lover of games and puzzles, and diehard Jays fan. We will miss you forever. "Away wi' ye"! Friends will be received at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street N. (Markham Road) Markham, on Friday from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 1:30 pm in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or a charity of your choice. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
