I just heard the sad news about Darcy. I just want to extend my sincere condolences to you and your family. Darcy was such a nice man with such a love for life. We only worked together for a short time but I always enjoyed our conversations about his love for his family. It was clear he loved his wife, children and grandchildren more than anything else in this world. I know he will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him.

Darcy you were always someone we all could talk to with such ease and yet trying to find words to express how we feel, when our hearts weigh so heavy, is almost an impossibility. Darcy, thank you for being an Uncle to my sisters, Leigh and Alison. Thank you so very much for being a long time companion of my parents, Sharon and Bernie. Thank you for your incredible amount of knowledge and wisdom that you were always willing to share. Thank you for your stories, your laughter and your help and advice. Thank you Darcy for being you. Until we meet again our friend ....

The loss of anyone is tragic. The loss of those who contribute more than they take is even greater. D'Arcy was one of those who gave commensurately more than he ever took. His intelligence, passion and commitment to his shared ideals are legendary and for that he will be remembered - and sorely missed. Pam - I hope you can take comfort in the legacy that D'Arcy leaves - his mentorship will allow his vision of a true and just society to flourish. He is in God's hands now - and no doubt arranging his next function! RIP my friend........

Darcy the friendship and love you’ve shown our family, over the last 30 years, will always be treasured. We were fortunate to have had many adventures with you, Pam and the children. You were a man who was larger than life and had a heart of gold that left us far so soon. There is a hole in our heart that won’t be easily fixed. We shall miss you dearly Commodore.

Dear Pam, Patrick, and Stephanie, With sadness I had heard that D'Arcy had passed on Saturday evening. D'Arcy was without exaggeration a truly original, creative, eclectic person. D'Arcy was a friend, he was generous, he was warm, he was loyal, and of course he was fearless. I have and will continue to pray for you during this difficult time of sadness. D'Arcy is with God and will sufferer no longer, he is at peace. As it is written in Scottish Gaelic (go gcasfar le chĂ©ile sinn arĂs) (Until we meet Again), Please take care, Kirk Sutherland
