Our hearts are broken and the only thing getting us through this difficult time are her 2 sweet boys and all of the love and support from all of the friends and family members in our lives. Much thanks to the nurses and staff at Sunnybrook D6 and especially Dr. Kirsten who had such compassion and a gentle caring nature as she would hug her and tell her she was giving her all if her positive vibes. Conny always asked everyone to fight hard for her and not give up on her and I have to say that between Dr. Kirsten and all of the nurses on D6, they never did. As I held Conny in my arms and the on-staff priest prayed for her and for strength for her boys and family I could feel the love for her in that room. The nurses were at the foot of her bed rubbing her legs, Dr. Kirsten held one hand on one side of her bed as I leaned over her with my hand in hers and my lips kissing her forehead right down to her nose, there was not a dry eye in that room as she took her last breath and made her way to our Lord after a courageous 3 year battle fighting this horrible disease. She was a deeply spiritual person and heaven has certainly gained a very special angel! Much love, from her sister Sylvia. ~ Sylvia S., Markham, Ontario

To Connor and Riley and the family, weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Your hearts must be aching as you come to the terms with the loss of your beloved mother, daughter and sister. Conny was a special person who lighted up a room when you boys were her wings and she loved you with all her heart. During this difficult time I would like to extend my most heartfelt sympathies. Even though I never had the privilege of meeting you, I worked with Conny at BBM/Numeris (I am based in the Moncton, New Brunswick office). I had the privilege of attending a conference in Atlanta with Conny and that's probably what I'll remember most about Conny: the way she laughed, joked and carried on - but was always looking out for everyone, making sure they were having a good time, that they were doing okay. More than once, she called me just to ask if everything was okay and how I was doing (I had some medical challenges of my own at the time). I will always remember Conny fondly and again, please accept my deepest condolences in this trying time.
