David and Kay were family to me. You have not lived until you sailed with Dave heading into a wall in Toronto full sail, faking panic and at the last possible moment turning a 50ft on a dime! He was 13 when I was born in Corner Brook. Spend summers visiting our aunts and uncles from one end of NFLD to the other and back to the states. Dave gave me a tour of the TV station he worked at in Gander at the beginning of his career. I remember the gossip in Port Aux Basque saying a TV tower would never hold up in the winds there. I remember the aunts doubting his choice for a wife. Dave proved everyone wrong! I was lucky to get hang out with him over the years even being hundreds of miles away. It is an honor for me to be mentioned here. It was an treat to know him and Kay. My heart is broken. Great men like him deserve a special place in history!
