Debby Pepall

Obituary of Debby Pepall

It is with great sadness that we announce that Debby Pepall passed away on the morning of Monday December 23, 2024. She was a fighter who fought a tough 15 month long battle with ovarian cancer.

Debby Norine Cheung was born on February 18, 1961 in Toronto to Wing Yuk Cheung and Yuet Oi Fung. She is the youngest sibling to Wayne (Ann), David, Anthony (Maria), Keith (Sally), Raymond (Helena), Gary (Lily). As well, she was the half sibling to Edwin, Lewina, and Helen.

She grew up in Toronto, and eventually met the love of her life, Doug, at 16 years old. They bought a house in North York, got married and had two beautiful daughters. After 14 years there, they decided to move to Markham where they have remained since 2000.

Debby loved spending time surrounded by her family. She was so proud to be “poh poh” to her three beautiful grandchildren. She was such a kind and loving person who always put the needs of others before hers. Her positive outlook on life was highly admired.

Debby loved her time spent as a school bus driver. She made many students and teachers alike smile with her upbeat nature. She always spoke fondly of her time spent with her bus driver friends and had she not gotten sick, she definitely would still be driving to this day.

Debby will be greatly missed by her husband of 38 years Doug, her children Kirstyn (Jason Jeffrey) and Eryn (Blake Vaisanen), and her grandchildren Poppy, Levi, and Walker. She is also leaving behind many wonderful loving nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces and great-grand nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Ovarian Cancer Canada. https://ovariancanada.org

As per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Information about a Celebration of Life will be announced in the new year.
