Doug, I was so sad to hear of Debbie’s passing. Being in Ottawa, I didn’t see Debbie often but each time I did, I will always remember her smile and upbeat attitude even when welcoming me to the Dye and Durchamites crowd when we first met at a Christmas party. Over the years, she invited me to your home when I was in Toronto and was always a sweetheart of a hostess even when you plied me with your home brew. When I first shared my cancer diagnosis, she was one of the first people to touch base with me with words of encouragement and positivity. We often messaged each other about our journeys with cancer. She always made me stay positive even when her struggles with this disease wasn’t going well. I always kept praying that she would have a good outcome but alas my prayers weren’t answered. Please know that you, the girls and your grandchildren have my love and thoughts at this difficult time. Madeleine

To Doug and Family,
My condolences to you and the family, Debby always had a smile on her face every time I saw her. I remember when she was working part time in the office at the Markham yard and how excited she was when she was about to be a grandmother the first time, and then the second time and the third time. Anytime after the kids' were born, I would ask how they were and she so proudly would show pictures of them. Rest In Peace Debby, you will always be remembered.

I started at Dye & Durham in 1983, in a new department that was just being formed, and which Doug was soon transferred to. This created a gaggle of early 20 somethings who hung out quite a bit at after work. I thought once that maybe I had a crush on Doug-and then I met his girlfriend Debby and knew I had no chance. Always with a smile on her face and that great laugh! Patience of Jobe and always so positive and upbeat. I am shattered to,hear of Debby's passing-Proof that it's the good that die young. My thoughts are with you Doug and your beautiful girls and grandchildren xx

My deepest condolences to Debby’s family.
I have been on bus duty for many years at my school and enjoyed my little chats with Debby. The kids loved her. She had one special little admirer who got to be too old to take the bus because he lived too close to the school. He would walk to school and then wait by my side for Debby to arrive so he could say hello. ❤️ We will forever miss Debby in the bus loop. May she rest in peace and free of illness.
