Obituary of Candace Stokes
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Candace Stokes (Bowman), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter, who passed away on December 15th at the age of 76. Candace’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Candace was the cherished wife of David Stokes, and a devoted mother to Karyn (James Monteith) and Sara. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Quentin, Reegan, Mason, and Landon, who were the light of her life. As a sister, she was deeply loved by Greg Bowman (Rita) and Sherri Norris (Bruce), and as a daughter, she was the beloved child of Arthur and Vivienne Bowman.
Born December 5th 1948, Candace was a vivacious and caring woman who devoted her life to others. As a mother, she demonstrated unmatched love and commitment, nurturing her children with boundless affection and guidance. Her dedication to family was at the core of who she was, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Beyond her role as a devoted parent, Candace spent countless hours volunteering her time and talents to causes dear to her heart. She was an active volunteer at Markham Stouffville Hospital where she worked in the oncology department, offering comfort and support to those facing the most challenging of battles. In addition to her work as a volunteer, Candace had a love for life and hobbies that brought her immense joy. She cherished her time at the cottage, where she created lasting memories with her family and friends.
Candace's vivacity and her selfless nature will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her ability to light up a room, coupled with her endless capacity for care, made her a truly special person. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A service for Candace's life will be held on Friday December 20th, 11:00 AM at Grace Anglican Church 19 Parkway Ave. Markham ON L3P 2E9 followed by a reception in the hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation or Dog Tales Rescue and Sanction in Candace's memory, continuing her legacy of care for others.
