I knew Kris through his interest in classic cars. We met at one of the Vintage (BMW) events in North Carolina that take place every May. Kris was consistently intelligent, kind, insightful, friendly and great to be around. He always sought me out and brightened my day at various BMW events. The beautiful 1973 BMW 2002 tii that he had restored was highly regarded for its appearance, authenticity and proper function. I will miss him every time that I have the sense that he should be there with us once again.
I knew Kris as the event photographer for Ride for Karen for many years . Always genial, helpful, passionate and resourceful both he and Kirk created a tremendous charity which was the highlight of the riding season for many. My condolences to his family and those who surround them.
I had the good fortune of knowing Kris for only a couple of years, but in that time he had shown himself to be a very kind and generous guy, always positive and a pleasure to be around.
Truly is a loss for his family and anyone lucky enough to have known him.
Rest in peace buddy, you'll be missed.
I just learned about Kris’ passing yesterday. I’ve only known him for a few years but it I always enjoyed our track side discussions. I dug through my photo album to find some pics of him and this one from Calabogie in 2022 seemed fitting. Kris waving next to his GT4.
Deepest condolences to his loved ones.
What a shock to learn the very sad news of Kris's passing. Kris was a top professional and a kind and thoughtful person. I worked with him at MCI and we shared an interest in mountain biking. The world has lost a good man. I have collected a few photos to share with everyone.
The very first day I met Kris was at a cyclocross race. He was so friendly and kind. His persistence in reaching out to me turned into a 30 year friendship. Kris specialized in connecting people. It’s was magical. My dear brother is gone and has left such a huge hole. I’m going to strive to cherish the people I love that are close to me like Kris taught me to. My thoughts and love to Sue, Johann, Isabel and Logan
Sue and family -
There are no words to describe the loss of my good friend and colleague. I was privileged to have worked with Kris at Shaw for a number of years. He put his colleagues and customers first, was one of the best listeners I knew, and a brilliant leader. As a friend, he was a confidant, and we spoke often even over this past year of transition when we weren’t working together. He was poised for amazing things and I was really looking forward to what was next for him. I was recently in NYC where Kris introduced my wife Kelly and I to coal-fired pizza for the first time. We both miss him already and I know the entire telecommunications industry feels the same - he will stay in the hearts of many that he touched. My deepest sympathy to your entire family.
Kris was a genuine and generous person. He enjoyed sharing his experience and knowledge about his many passions. His enthusiasm was infectious and he will be greatly missed on our mountain bike rides in Durham forest. Rest in peace Kris.
