Everyone who knew Kris knows just how rarely GOOD he was at every conceivable level. We'll hear it many times from many people this Friday too.
Please read this string of comments from and about the incredible Dannial Brinkley. He was pronounced clinically deceased 3 different times in his life; and tells what he experienced in clear detail.
If his experiences were indeed real, and not just some chemical/electrical anomaly as some choose to believe, then Kris Tobias is getting a spiritual standing ovation in the afterlife:

My most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Kris. Life has a way of blindsiding you sometimes. This is one of those times. I was not a close friend of Kris, but this does not diminish the respect I have for him. I knew Kris exclusively through cycling and the Ride For Karen charity. My experiences of the Ride For Karen can never be forgotten. It is a testament to his character that The Ride grew in popularity over the years and was eagerly anticipated by all who rode it.
You can never replace a guy like Kris. All we can do is remember him, and the way he touched our lives. He loved, and in turn was loved. Goodbye Kris. Until we meet again. Rest In Peace. May his memory be a blessing to us all.

I am still in shock at the news about Kris. He understood the fleeting aspect of life and was determined to live it to the fullest. Whether that was his biking, his work or his friends and family, Kris made sure to give it his all. Always there with a shoulder to lean on, some sage piece of advice - Kris never let you down. I will miss him. My condolences to Sue and his family.

I still cannot believe the news and I'm so heartbroken for the Tobias family. May you live and ride on in heaven, Kris. All the good you have been a part of of will continue despite your departure from this world. You raised the bar as a professional, family man, and a kind human being. We'll remember you with lots of love and prayers.

Kirk (and family), I just heard the news of Kris from my mother. I'm at a loss to find the words that contain all my care, and offer peace that could enter your heart at this tragic time. Heather and I are both feeling the sorrow of this and hope these unfolding moments can be met with love, strength, and remembering.
Some of my earliest mountain biking experiences were with Kris. Bib shorts, no jersey. I'll always remember that.

A better human being, you will never find. Kris was a most incredible friend that we’ll never be forgotten, always missed. More so, he was an incredible partner to Sulyn and the best father to their wonderful children.

To the Tobias family,
I have know Kris for many years as I worked with him at MCI / Verizon. Kris was always so kind, genuine and such a wealth of knowledge. He had a way to put things in perspective always looking for a positive outcome. We always kept in touch over the years and most recently work with him at Shaw/Rogers. My heart goes out to his family - may you find strength in all the wonderful memories. I have no words ..... i can only say .... Kris...you will be deeply missed. Truly sad your time on earth was cut short....so so unfair.... RIP my friend you will never be forgotten.
