I can’t express enough how much Diane was valued as a volunteer for the Ontario Physiotherapy Association and as a supportive friend to me personally throughout my time as a volunteer on the Board and CEO in the later years. Her calm presence, her wonderful sense of humour, her knowledge and guidance, her dedication to her profession present long beyond her time in practice - she is remembered with admiration and love. Diane you made a big impact on those who practiced beside you and the volunteers you inspired by your example.

I have known Diane Follwell through participating in the activities of the York Region and Scarborough District of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association (OPA). Diane had already been there serving as the Treasurer for the district. The district had been blessed with Diane's Master of Business Administration background. Diane had been serving on the Board of Directors for OPA before I knew her. On the executive for the district OPA, Diane had always been my mentor, counsellor, conference mate, supporter, and most importantly a kind and gentle friend, who was perceptive, sensible, logical, reasonable, and considerate.
Even though it was rather on "business" trip that we often travelled together to OPA conferences, Diane had a real penchant for adventure and fun. On one conference in Ottawa, Diane was my accomplice to look up the Prime Minister's residence and to try to knock on his door. We were stopped by at least two RCMP's, with whom Diane could talk her way out of trouble with her friendliness and charm.
Diane would always willingly volunteer as a voting delegate representing the York Region and Scarborough District at OPA Annual General meetings. She had also provided long-standing leadership and stewardship of the OPA Finance Committee.
Diane Follwell, Grace Liu, and I worked together on the York Region and Scarborough District OPA, on the Finance Committee of OPA, and at OPA conferences as voting delegates. We miss Diane dearly and we send Diane's family and the OPA family our deepest condolences.

It is with great sadness , I hear of the passing of my long term friend “Diane”
She was such an easy going kind friend , but very much stood up for what was important to her. She stood no nonsense in her own quiet way, and was very thoughtful of other people’s situations .
Many a time we had long chats , as I dealt with situations in my own life .
We all enjoyed visits to her cottage , and I know she loved all her time spent at her cottage .
My condolences to her family and grandchildren .
Missed but not forgotten .
Rest in peace .
Sincerely …Amy imbleau .
