Was so saddened to hear that John/Jack had passed. We had a friendship that stood the test of time and distance.
I met him at his niece Carol's house in 1973 and remember how handsome and charming he was. I learned that very first meeting, he had a brain that clicked over very fast, and was a Devil with a huge sense of humour.
He was an amazing man and friend that helped me more than once over the years when I was raising my young children and always did so in a very quiet way so as not to injure my pride.
I will miss the almost daily emails he sent, as they were the only personal ones I received, because he didn't care for Social Media.
The visits to his beautiful cottage in Coboconk in early years, then the quarry in Kirkland will always be special memories to me.
He had a love for dogs, and had beautiful, well trained ones, had a special place in his heart for his family and close friends.
John was a unique man, who lived his life the way He wanted, with no apologies, guilt or regrets.
May we honor his memory by speaking of him often.
YOU WILL BE MISSED JOHN!
Love ya
Pamela

In loving memory of my
Great Uncle John aka Jack, JC or PP to his friends!
I will miss You!
However somehow I take comfort believing that You and Al are together again tipping one back.

If one thing is for certain you lived life on your terms.
Forever in my heart

I was very sad to hear about John’s death. He was always such a lovely person to me by extension of my mom Sandi, his good friend. John built my first computer and I remember standing in his office and I was so excited! John had a lovely quiet way about him and my sympathies go to his family and friends

So sorry to hear of Jack’s passing. He, along with my brother Jimmy and Alan, Marty, Henry, Ed and Norm spent a lot of time at our house during our teens and their friendship continued on. So many memories. You are with your buddies. Rest in peace Jack

Jack was a good friend for many years to the folks who grew up on St. Helen's and Lansdowne in West Toronto in the 1950s and 60s. We were fortunate that after losing Jimmy in the 90s that five of us -- Jack, Al, Henry, Ed and I -- continued to get together once a month for lunch until we lost Henry and Al a few years ago. Jack was so pleased that that all those friendships lasted for 60 years or more.

John was a dear friend to my wife and I . We celebrated many a New Year with no running water but with heat of an ol bot belly stove . Great sense of humor and made you fell he was only talking to you !!! He never judged people he let them show their cards first . Wyatt Earp of sorts at times . Always respectful to my wife … called her Georgy as she prepared many a home cooked meal at Thanksgiving dinner or New Years . He’d say Just Great and I can’t thank you enough ! Loved his dogs and always greatly trained . He was like an older brother to me when together. Took no bull if needed as a hog iron was near by ……..keep us safe Jake , Rest In Peace ! Love

So very sorry to hear of Johns passing. He loved his home so it’s no surprise that he left us all from there.
I knew John as a very good friend & neighbour for many years. Always helpful and caring, in his own unique way. Weekends, holidays at his cottage were amazing and joyful; Long to be remembered by myself & his friends as well. You & Al try to stay out of mischief ok. You’ve left way too soon friend.
