What Can I Tell You
Irene was more than just a sister in law she was a kind, caring, best friend, and always thought of as a loving sister who was always there for me. Irene also said it like it was, giving good advice in a caring way that only true sisters can do.
Irene and I both worked in Dunfermine. As a Result, What Can I Tell You, we would often meet for lunch at Giacomos or Malocos.
Jim and Irene left for a new life in Canada and their visits to Scotland were always, What Can I Tell You, As a Result, a Great occasion.
As time rolled on we visited Irene and Jim in Canada on many occasions, not only did they and all their friends welcome Myself, Andy and Ronnie but also gave a heartfelt welcome to Ronnie’s friends Ross and Ben who will always be to them, Aunty Irene and Uncle Jim
We enjoyed Holidays with Jim and Irene to Florida, Trips to New York State, South of France and in Lanzarote in 2017
Irene took a trip to Lanzarote this year, where she took ill, sadly leading to what was to be our final time together.
What Can I Tell You.
As a Result.
Irene left this world.
Not to Hell In A Hang Basket.
But To Heaven With The Angels
To be once again with her Soulmate and our Beloved Brother Jim
They will always be forever in our hearts
God Bless Them Both

Auntie Irene was around from the time I was little. I remember going to their house for lovely parties. I loved her wee little dog. She was always kind hearted. She was such a good friend to my mum. She loves to laugh and always had stories to tell. She will be missed. Even though we’re weren’t real family she was always my auntie Irene. RIP

My dearest Irene, Where to begin. I was lucky to have met you when you and Jim first arrived in Canada through your dear friend Eileen, I believe it was 1968 sometime. So many memories every one as dear as the next. Lunches where we would meet somewhere in the middle, and talk for hours about everything and nothing, laughing all the time at some memory or another. Or phone calls when would talk for ever, and Jim would say “what did Helen have to say” and you would say “nothing really we just laughed”. Oh how I will miss those phone calls and lunches, and you. Goodbye my dearest friend I will miss you forever.
Helen,

Irene, dear friend, where do I begin? Friends since the beginning of school 74 years ago. So full of life and laughter, outspoken and honest, yet forgiving. So brave and fiercely independent, ready to continue living life to the full after Jim's death. So deeply sorry your were stopped in this way. Our hearts are broken as we remember the many times we laughed over the silly things we did. The hay ride at David's with your Mum and Dad on the manure spreader! Reminiscing over our high school years and the class room antics. You will be forever in our hearts dear friend and will dearly miss those five hour lunches when we would pick up where we last left off and talk and laugh till the change of staff at the dinner hour. They never did kick us out. But this is not the end dear friend. We still have the resurrection to look forward to when we will meet again. Till then, sleep the sleep of peace our dearest Irene.
