Forever Loved, Never Forgotten ...

Audrey Josephine Johnstone (nee Virtue)

Audrey in her 107th year passed away peacefully at Bethany Lodge, Unionville on November 16th, 2023 with her family at her side. Pre-deceased by her parents, Charles and Mabel Virtue, her husband Hugh and her daughter Audreyanne. Survived by her son Allan (Kay), granddaughters, Elizabeth (Rory) and Andrea (Mark), great-grandchildren Thomas, Emma, Charlie and Cole. Audrey was born in Capreol, Ontario where she spent 60 years of her life.

She was an active member of the community including St. Alban’s Anglican Church before moving to Markham in 1977 to be closer to the family. She became very involved, enjoying new friendships at Grace Anglican Church and especially Markham Stouffville Hospital where she continued volunteering until her 100th birthday.

She moved to her own apartment in Bethany Courts (Unionville) in the late 90’s and there she made many long lasting friendships. Our family are grateful to the Bethany community for their continued support as she transitioned to independent living in The Manor and then to Long Term Care in The Lodge.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Anglican Church, 19 Parkway Ave., Markham L3P 2E9 on Friday, November 24th with visitation from 11am until time of service at 12 noon. Reception to follow in the church hall.
