Dear Allan, Kay and Family:
I was deeply saddened to hear of Mrs. Johnstone's passing. She was always Mrs. Johnstone to me right up until my last conversation with her. Having grown up across the street from her and knowing AudreyAnne and the family, I came to realize what a special person she was. We have kept in touch all these years even though apart by miles. I cherish the friendship we had and will think of her often. Over the years she sent me beautiful hand made Christmas cards and I have saved all of them. They will always remain treasures, to remind me of a kind and sweet lady who graced my life. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

Dear Allan , Kay , Liz , Rory , Andrea , Mark and all the wonderful Grandchildren ,
We were absolutely heartbroken when we heard of Aunt Audreys passing. She was the aunt that we loved so much and spent so much time with her when we could . I remember the first time I met her at the Spec camp and how she blew me away with just how special she was and how kind , gentle and loving she was. The memories of her bringing her two beautiful granddaughters to camp to swim , go in the sauna and play and spend time in the bush were so great. From there our Mother in law suggested that Karen and I go down to Markham with her to have some girl time to shop and visit and go out for lovely meals. Those trips were so special to us all and we got to know Aunt Audrey even better and loved her even more ( if that was possible ) . Allan and Kay would get the ladies to spend a few days there while they had a trip to make and we were so lucky that they included us too. What fun we had there , lots and lots of laughs while they knitted and we chatted ! I remember once saying I didnt want to go home. We have such wonderful relatives. They all were so good to us. My heart is heavy tonight knowing that Aunt Audrey will never be with us again but we do have our spectacular memories to hold close and we know she is happy being back with Uncle Hugh and Audrey Anne. Miss you already my sweetie !!

The passing of Aunt Audrey has been a time of reflection for myself. Audrey and Hugh were the closest relatives and good friends to my parents Robert and Ruth. I will always remember them both for their kindness, generosity, and their love of life. I remember all the visits made to Fairbank Lake to my parents cottage, always fun and also interesting. I was in university when Uncle Hugh passed away, and I was a sad time for our family. Aunt Audrey remained an important part of our lives as we moved forward in our endeavors. It may seem unfair of me to have a favorite Aunt and Uncle, but that is my choice, and I am grateful to have had both of them in my life. I benefitted from much more time with Aunt Audrey, for whom I have a great deal of respect and admiration for. Aunt Audrey had grace, patience, and an extra helping of kindness.
My thoughts are with Allen and Kay and their children and grandchildren in their time of loss. Please know Audrey is now with Hugh and AudreyAnn

I extend my sympathies to Audrey's family. I had the pleasure of meeting Audrey in 1989 when she came forward to volunteer at the not-yet-opened Markham Stouffville Hospital (1990). She was part of the original 'volunteer guides' conducting community tours of the hospital. She transitioned to the Information Desk where she assisted every week until she turned 100.
She quickly learned how to use the hospital computer system and kept up to date on new services, relocation of services and, in 2014 the challenging layout of the new wing.
She was always helpful and kind to anyone who required her assistance.
Rest in Peace Audrey, it was a pleasure working with you and a real inspiration to many of us.
