Growing up with Karen on Major Mackenzie Drive made Helga like a second mom to me sometimes. She was always welcoming to me and looking out for us against strangers. I won't forget the homemade waffles she would make for us in the mornings, the sour leaves from the garden and the treats she would bring home from her work for us! So many other memories!
