Dear Grandma,
Thank you . Thank you for choosing to know me, for choosing to love me, for choosing to be my Grandma, even though you did not have to.
Thank you for showing me your light.
Sometimes In life, we don't recognize the smallest moments on earth, are the biggest moments in God's plan.
You, nor I realized the significance that your love and light would have on my heart, and my lifes journey
The smallest things that seem normal to most, were everything to me...... When I'd sleep at your house, you'd tuck me in so tight I couldnt breath.... So many blankets... but you always made sure I knew there were extras in the wooden chest at the bottom of the bed, just in case the 5 I already had on weren't enough
Seriously, that was my most favourite memory ....
The hugs you gave us when we arrived after the long car ride from Hamilton....theyy always included an extra firm round of patting to the back to show the extra love
You lunches for camp and school .... Your brown paper bag lunches that always included a sandwich (frozen) that you'd always promise would be thawed by lunch.... But definitely never was.... an apple, a. juice box and a fruit roll up.
It Made me feel so special to be able to pull out A meal at lunch time like all the other kids
I'm sorry I could not understand then, that all these small moments in time, were not actually small at all...
Thank you for being my Grandma...
Even though you didn't have to...
I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.
Love you forever Grandma,
Noura.

I remember your Mom as always friendly and cheery and someone participating and often initiating programs and opportunities within the Markham Stouffville Mennonite community and beyond.
One of the earliest memories I have of her was when I'd drive in that longish driveway over on the 5th to pick up my order of peaches for canning I recall too occasionally going to the Thornhill Farmer's Market where your Mom along with Anna Katherine would be selling their delicious pies (and other baking I assume). Rob and Rich were not far away cutting up and selling chickens at another stand.
Your Mom got involved in being the York County Self Help Rep for Self Help Crafts in the mid to late 70's. You probably are aware that when caring for your Dad became more responsibility she contacted Esther and myself asking us if we'd consider taking that role, which then took place sometime in '79.. (The Care and Share Shoppe followed in the fall of 1981.)
We appreciated watching the service honouring your Mom today on Zoom, unable to be there in person.
Blessings to you all, Irene and Glenn Steiner

Stella, I am going to miss you so much! Your smile, your passion in quilting, generosity and kindness. I still have the little red dress you hand-made for Melody. We will treasure it.
See you later in our heavenly home :)

Stella was my Sunday School teacher many years ago, and one thing that really sticks out in my memory is that she brought a beautiful potted plant (cactus) for each of us students as a gift and as a lesson in stewardship. I enjoyed her smile and chatting over lunch break at the farmer's market. What an example for all of us Stella has been - a life of faith and service to family, church and community and a life enthusiastically lived to the fullest.

I have many wonderful memories of Stella when we both worked at Willowgrove. She was efficient at her job but was also very friendly and kind to everyone she met. We had some great staff Christmas potlucks at her place and appreciated her wonderful hospitality. My condolences to all the family.
