1930 -2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Eleanor Winters at Markham Stouffville Hospital, on Monday, January 23, 2023, in her 93rd year. Loving daughter of the late Gerald and Mildred Vincent of Picton. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Burton (2017). Ruth began her teaching career in Prince Edward County in 1955 and continued her career in Scarborough as an art supervisor and principal until her retirement in 1989. Following her retirement Ruth enjoyed framing many of Burt’s paintings. Ruth was a charter member of the O.E.S., Picton Chapter #273, and always was proud of her County roots. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives.

A Reception will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2023 between 1pm & 3pm and friends may call at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street North, Markham. Interment will take place in the family plot at Cherry Valley Cemetery, Prince Edward County. If desired, memorial donations to Markham Stouffville Hospital or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Rushnell Funeral Homes, Picton Chapel.
