Brother Fred Krauss and I have often conversed together relative to the moment we were saved. He was saved in 1958 after a sister presented him with a Gospel Tract at an open air meeting sponsored by the Paps Avenue Gospel Hall. I was saved in 1957 shortly after attending a Gospel Meeting where I heard brethren Harold Paisley and Albert Joyce in Pape Avenue. We were both impressed with the large Prayer Meetings before each Gospel Meeting in that series. The last time I saw and spoke to Fred was at a Conference Bible Reading two years ago.
Margaret and I express our deepest sympathy and remembrance before the Throne of Grace to Morag, Heather, Alyssa and Kati

Dear Morag, Heather, and granddaughters:
Ruth and I wish to pass on our condolences on the passing of Fred. His exit from life was his immediate entrance into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ whom he had trusted many years before. He first heard the gospel at an open-air meeting in Allen Gardens in Toronto. Brethren from Pape Avenue Gospel Hall were faithful to preach the gospel there. Years later I got to know Fred a little as we enjoyed his ministry often at conferences with smaller assemblies. His ministry was clear and direct. We enjoyed his help at the assembly conference in Victoria Road. May the "true and living God" be comforting and encouraging to you now. Fred's exit from life on earth ushered him immediately into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ whom Fred had trusted and loved. You are in our prayers.

I was saved during a series of gospel tent meetings in Alison, Iowa held by Fred Krauss and Harold Paisley. The night before I was I stayed behind after meeting and brother Fred read some scriptures with me but remained unsaved. The next night I was saved after meeting through John 5:24 visiting with a good friend. For the next three days I was unsure that I was really saved (seemed too simple) so I went to see brother Fred who wisely opened the scriptures at Exodus 12. He proposed a scenario where the father of two firstborn sons had obeyed the command to kill the Passover lamb and applied the blood to the door. However one of the sons kept wringing his hands, looking out the window and questioning whether the blood was going to keep him safe while next door the son was feasting on the roasted lamb. Fred asked me "Which one of them was safest." I saw immediately it didn't matter how I felt, it was the blood of the Lord Jesus that made me safe and the word of God that made me sure.
Heartfelt sympathies to Morag and Heather (who I remember at the time was banging her spoon on her highchair as her mum was feeding her!) I will forever appreciate dear brother Fred, who will be able to clearly pronounce Thessalonians when we see him in Glory.

Dear sister Morag and family,
Becky and I wish to express our sympathy to you in this tremendous loss. I remember as a young Christian being especially challenged by a message brother Fred spoke on consecration from Romans 12. He genuinely lived the principles and truths that he ministered to us over many years, and we will miss his presence and influence among us. 'The memory of the just is blessed'.
May the Lord tenderly comfort and sustain you in His grace.
With our love in Him,
Bruce & Becky Rodgers

That dear Fred. He and my husband, Fred, always joked about the name share. He was one of the preachers in the tent when my father at age 50 was saved; Dad always referred to him as his spiritual father. Fred joined several other preachers in gospel tent meetings here in Dunkerton in the 70's when many souls were saved. We cherish the memories of the tents, baptisms, and followup teaching or gospel visits, including conducting children's meetings. His teaching was spot on! Thank you, Mrs. Krauss and Heather, for sharing him with us in Iowa.

Dear Morag, Heather and family,
Our sincerest sympathies on the passing of your dear husband and father and grandfather.
We always enjoyed listening to messages by Fred and enjoyed visits when we were able
to get together, whether it was in Milton in the early days or lately in St. Marys and also
in Deland Florida. The meetings he and Frank Pearcey had in Lakeshore in 1970 will
always hold a special place because of the assurance of eternal salvation having been obtained.
May our Lord comfort you at this time.
Sincerely in him,
John and Sharon Hackett
