As neighbours of George & Cathy for almost 12 years, we can attest to the super manicured lawns that George kept. Since we shared a yard, he mowed our little part, seeded, fertilized, & watered our little green space too. We could never keep up being weed free as quickly on our side but we definitely was motivated to try. George had an uncanny way of nurturing, guiding and helping us. Every winter, when we were hand shovelling the end of our driveway after the street snow plow left us a gigantic hump, George would make jokes about us chipping at icebergs. Then he would use his snowblower with that mischievous smile & flattens that hump. Then he moves on to surrounding neighbours & helps them too.
Living beside Cathy & George, a retired police officer, made us feel super safe. They always watched out for our property & my family. What I will miss most is our conversations over the fence with George much like Mr Wilson in Tool Time. The funniest was the time when a bunch of my family/friends were teetering precariously a steel 14ft wide gazebo top to mount onto bunch of posts, George started to chat with his quirky humour over the fence. He ended the conversation with something about a flying saucer while we were sweating bullets with the weight of this gigantic metal saucer. All in all, his warmth & neighbourly chat was always welcome. We will definitely miss him. Know George we will meet again & shoot the breeze over the fence again. Just know you will be dear to us always.
Cathy & family, you are in our thoughts & prayers. May you be comforted that George is the guardian angel that will always be looking after you.
Sincerely,
Nestor (Sonny), Christine, Aidan, Erin, Amelia, Lana & Ferris

I am sad to here another TPS Brother has gone....I spoke with George at length a month ago and we shared a good laugh or two about working at 41 Division together years ago. His infectious smile and devilish sense of humour will be remembered by all who knew him as a dedicated caring colleague.

To: Cathy and family,
Wishing you moments of peace and comfort, the gift of faith, the blessings of hope and the goodness of HIS love as you remember and celebrate the life of George and the many contributions he made throughout his well lived life to family, community and parish involvement, the police services and the betterment and enhancement of Canadian society.
My association with George cantered around the game of golf at Mill Run Golf Club. George was a long time member of our Senior Men’s League who loved his participation in our weekly games where he always represented the best in character, in manner and in genuine goodness. He will always be considered one of the best and will be fondly remembered by the Mill Run golfing community.
Thank you George for the gift of your life. We were blessed that you walked among us. You made this world a better place and we all witnessed a life of great worth and grace. Now rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the loving light of Jesus, in the company of loved ones gone before.
Sincerely and with deep sympathy, Tom O’Leary, Markham, On.

I had the pleasure of working with George when we were assigned as sergeants together at 55 Division. We had a lot of laughs during that time. Of course he used to tease me about being 15 years younger than him by asking if my parents gave me permission to be out late at night. Fun times with a great coworker. My condolences to the Foster family.

I am saddened to hear of George's passing. I would like to pass along my sympathy to his family.
I worked for George for a couple years at 55 Division, and then another couple years at the ARU office at HQ. George was a true gentleman, and always wanted things to run smoothly and quietly. The quietly part was a little problem, with the cast of characters that he was in charge of.....lol >> He always wanted things to go peacefully, and he said that was because of the influences of all the females at home in his life.... He was very proud of his girls.. >> RIP Sir !!
