Obituary of Donald Ray Thomson

 

Donald Ray Thomson, 85, passed away peacefully on August 26th, 2022 at Markham Stouffville Hospital, Markham Ontario.

Don was born on July 3rd, 1937 in Roseville, PEI to the late John and Mildred (McInnis) Thomson. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley (Cameron). He was a loving father to John (Jill) Thomson, Carol Thomson (predeceased, 8 months), Bruce (Stephanie) Thomson, and Grandpa to his four granddaughters, Jordan, Jessica, Lindsey and Ashley.

Don is survived by his sister Ruth (Thane) Cousins, and sister-in-law Marion Thomson, Esther Thomson and Bernice Cameron. Predeceased by his parents, sisters and brothers Ken (Miriam), Ruby (James) Palmer, Leith, Bert, Lois (Alvin) Smith.

He will be missed dearly and lovingly remembered by his friends and family.

Visitation will occur on Wednesday, August 31st between 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home (166 Main St. N., Markham). The funeral service will be at 11am on Thursday, September 1st, at Central United Church (131 Main St. Unionville), with a reception to follow, and burial at Elmwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
