My condolences Cathy to you and your family.
Brian was a really nice fellow and very easy going, I met Brian when I pumped gas at the Gulf and Sunoco stations on Highway 7 in the early to mid-1970's. We used to tease Brian about "Budgie" towing - but what do you really understand as a teen ager. Years later I admired him for his hard work in building his business and his participation in the community.
He was always willing to help people at all hours and days, when I called him on Christmas Eve 1973 or 1974 and said I was in a jam and asked Brian if he could pull my Dad's car out of a snow bank. He came to Unionville towed it back to the Gulf station in Markham and then gave me a ride back to Unionville. I asked how much - Brian said Merry Christmas - and then winked and said he will get me back :-)
I went on a few runs with him during some snowstorms. A gentle soul with a big heart. I never forgot about "Brian and Budget Towing".

Cathy and Family, I was so saddened to hear of Brian's passing. He was always such a great guy. Kind to everyone he met. Loved by everyone. Great sense of humour. Paul and Brian shared many good times together and were great friends. Josh still remembers the time, when he was maybe 7 or 8 yo, when Brian took him (with Paul) to 'tow truck camp' and how much fun he had that day. The three guys together just doing 'tow truck stuff'. It was so sweet of Brian to do that for him and clearly a wonderful memory that has stayed with Josh to this day and speaks to Brian's kindness. Thinking of you all at this time.
Sincerely,
Luanne and Josh Donahoe

Bruce and I were very sad to hear of Brian's passing. Brian was such a gentle man. Even when facing health challenges of his own, he always greeted friends with a smile ready to reminisce about 'the old days'. He was the first one to offer help to those around him be it with a tow truck or his time ie Markham Fair. Brian will be missed by many. Our sincere condolences to Cathy, his daughters and grandchildren.

Sad to hear of Brian's passing. He sure was one of the good guys. From coaching hockey to pulling you out of the ditch he was always willing to give a helping hand. It was always a pleasure to talk with him, on the side of the road or at the car wash or repairing the tow trucks. Our deepest condolences to Cathy and family.

Myself and my son Johnny were reminiscing about Brian’s tales of an oversized dock spider named Betty. He would pretend whisper to Johnny just loud enough for Betty or Cathy to hear. Or going on the mayors tour on the seadoo a tame alternative to the raft with myself Steve and Johnny hanging on for dear life as Johnny howled in laughter and I lost another pair of glasses into the depths. The way Brian and the whole Lee family accepted us and treated us as family will never be forgotten. Anyone who had the pleasure of calling Brian a friend is undoubtedly a better human for it . His love for his family and grandchildren was just plain visible at all times . I am sure the healing for the Lee family will be made a little easier by the never ending vault of fond memories which will hold them and hit them at any given time .A smile from nowhere as the good times are never lost but stored for when they are needed the most. God bless Brian will be missed by more than could possibly be imagined.

I'm so sorry to read Brian has passed. We would often chit-chat out front of his mom's place. There were a few times I sensed he wasn't picking up on the last conversation we had, a blank look would come over his face...me not immediately realizing, that previous conversation had been started with his twin, Bruce. He was so kind, he just rolled with it until I figured it out...lol...Their mom was a wonderful person and they are and will be missed.❤ They leave good memories for their friends. ❤ Deepest condolences from the Caldwell/Armstrong clan to the entire family. ❤❤❤ Jane, Dave and Rachel.

It’s a rare human being who even though you may not see them that often you know they always have your back. Brian Lee was one of those guys whether he was towing you home from Denbigh Ontario after the Iggstock concert or helping you papier-mâché a giant Muppet head for a parade float, Brian was there, he was proud of you and he was supportive without judgement. He did it all without a lot of fanfare, he seemed to just quietly always do the right thing. I am so blessed to have known him and his wonderful family.

I was at Bethesda P.S. and Stouffville H.S. with Brian and other members of his family. Also at the golf course, played baseball and knew him during the tow truck era when I worked at Giles in Stouffville. Lots of good times were had by all. His dad Jim, and my dad George occasionally! got together on the Bethesda sideroad farm. There are many memories of Brian and the Lee family throughout our times in Bethesda. My condolences to the family, Gary Williams

We have been in the towing business since mid 1970s. Known Brian since then. He was one unique NICE TOUGHGUY. Never complained and took everything with a grain of salt.A Very dry sense of humour, but always gave a little smirk. Work ethics and determination like no one else. We the Phippen family of REIDS TOWING, Give our heartfelt condolences to ALL HIS FAMILY, He will live on in anyone’s mind that had the PLEASURE AND HONOUR OF KNOWING HIM, REST IN PIECE BROTHER GBNF, THE PHIPPEN FAMILY

Sending our deepest sympathy to Cathy and family. We remember working with Brian in many Towing Committee situations over our years with Byers Towing in Toronto. He was always a level-headed and a caring guy who was a kindred spirit in trying to improve the image of Tow Truck drivers. That seem to be a rare phenomenon nowdays. he treated people well and was always respetful of others. His death is certainly a great loss to the community of Markham and the Towing industry.May he rest in peace.

A very sad day for all. My sincere condolences to Cathy, Candice and Janice. Brian was a mentor to me in my early twenties at Budget. A good friend, boss and leader. He and Cathy made Budget into a family where lifelong friends were made.

I had the privilege and honour to work alongside Brian, his wife Cathy and daughter Janice when Budget Towing was assisting CAA Members. Brian of course, was never at the office, as he was more wanting to be on the road, and helping those in need of service. It is a huge loss, not only to the Lee Family, but to the community of Markham. It is never easy when we have to say good-bye, but we know that Brian, in his own way, will sure be finding ways to keep his caring spirit going, To Cathy, and the entire Lee Family, I wish my most sincerest condolences during this difficult time.
