Obituary of Arthur Yap

Our beloved Arthur Yap passed away in peace Sunday January 16, 2022 with his children by his side at the age of 82.

Son of YAP (Jack) Yuc Tong (deceased) and WONG (Theresa) Yuck Hing (deceased). Brother of Lai Ching (Aja), Bertie (Hunter), Cecil, Yolanda, David, Ernest, Joyce, Franklin. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Sandra and children Wayne (Greg) and Andrew (Soerha) and grandchildren Maxwell and Henry.

From Jamaica, Arthur’s career started with the family business Caribbean Bakery on Spanish Town Road, but better known for his interest in cars and his auto mechanic business. He retired in 2002 in Canada from his own auto shop, Art’s Garage on Midwest Road, which was also a popular place for Jamaicans to gather.

He received the sacrament of the Anointing Oil of the Sick. He will be sadly missed by his extended family and from his community of friends around the world.
