In my tribute, I mentioned that I had a large collection of photos that included Joan! I am adding some more I found, that were mainly from Joan’s Retirement from MPL, in 2015, and I think that these are important to include, for our memories of Joan!
My sincere condolences to Joan’s family!
The news of Joan’s passing has saddened me, greatly! All of us who knew her, have many fond memories of Joan's pleasant and vivacious personality, and her love of so many types of activities --- especially those that involved books!
I knew Joan as a colleague and friend, at two branches of Markham Public Library (MPL), and she will live on in the hearts of many of us! Her coworkers, family and friends will agree that, "To live in the hearts of those you leave behind, is not to die!"
I have attached just a few of the photos of Joan, from my collection, taken at MPL-related activities! I hope it will be comforting for Joan’s family and others, to add these to our walk down Memory Lane, during our tribute to Joan! She will be missed, and remembered, dearly!
With sadness, but also in celebration of Joan’s well-lived life,
Maxine Thames-Parchment
Happier times in Arub...missing you.
Love
Jim
Giving much thought of my memories of Auntie Joanie can be summarized like this; she was a force to be reckoned with!! Our Joan was and forever will be the Queen of the Universe!
As I recall We came to this conclusion while enjoying some wine on a beautiful summer day. (See photo). Joanie was kind enough to announce that I could be the Princess of the Universe..but I would need much training (by her of course) !
Love You Forever Dear Lady
