Obituary of George Anderson
Anderson, Albert George-
Passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on January 1, 2022 in his 85th year.
Loving husband of Carole, Beloved father of Bonnie (Phil) Mercer, Victor (Kathi) Anderson, Teresa (Steve) Mowder. Dear grandfather of Charlene Mowder (predeceased), Katelyn Mercer (Chris Stevens), Christine (Eric Maly), Carrie (Blair Woodruff), David Anderson. Cherished great–grandfather of Sedrick Mowder and Emily and Chloe Maly. Son of the late Richard and Gertrude Anderson, brother to 8 siblings. Foster son of late Lloyd and Rose Baker, and Brothers, Ralph (Bun) predeceased, his wife Elaine, Clair and his wife Gerrie predeceased. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
George served as a police officer for the Markham Township Police force, then York Regional Police force until his retirement in 1994. He had a great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew him.
He will be sadly missed.
Family and friends will be received at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street North (Markham Road), Markham on Wednesday January 5th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will take place in the chapel at 11am on Thursday. Burial to follow at Locust Hill Cemetery. There will be a time for refreshments after the burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
