I first met George in 1991 when I started with YRP. Assigned to the new Five District station, I would see George and have a coffee with him almost daily. He was a kind man, and I really enjoyed hearing his stories from the early days of his policing career. My condolences to his family and friends, who will miss him dearly. Sincerely, James McMurray

I first met George Anderson #20, in 1976. A gentleman as he has been described by many. And very much a practical joker. Fondly remembered as a professional - never had a bad day with the man. Part of the History of YRP, if you never got to meet him or work with him you missed a great opportunity. Sincerely: Gary Miner (Ret) 221

I have known George since the early 50 when we attended Markham High school. I used to stop in and visit with him when he worked at Conlin Motors. We lost contact for a few years but George came to work as a police officer at the Township of Markham where I was also on the police department. George was on the same shift as I was and he used to keep every one on there toes with some of his quick witted remarks. George and his family built a cottage on Chandos Lake next door to my family and we used to spend some great times together. George and I have kept in contact over the years and the last few years buy phone. I will miss communication with George as he always made he feel better after we talked. My wife and I want to pass along our condolences at this time to Carol and all the family and thank Teresa for letting me know about George's passing.

My condolences to the Anderson family. I remember George when I started with YRP in '84. He was such a gentleman with a great sense of humour! He always had time for the "rookies" to help them along, give them advice or just share a laugh. George always made time for you. I would see him on Main St., Markham after he retired and spent some time catching up. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear about George. Our condolences to his family. I remember George when I was a kid growing up in the Village of Markham on Talisman Crescent. When I started with YRP George took me under his wing looking after another Markham boy. George knew just about everyone in Town and helped me out many times. He pointed me in the direction and was an excellent mentor. George will be missed by everyone who knew him. Diane and Paul Carlsen Wasaga Beach
