Obituary of Douglas Earle Phillips

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful gentle man, Douglas Phillips in his 88^th year.

He lived a full and happy life with his wife Pat of almost 50 years. He is predeceased by his son, Rick (Kathy). Loving father to daughters Julie (Dom) and Diana (Dion). Loving brother to Ron, David, and Norm and sister-in-law Heather (Brian). He leaves behind seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Doug spent most of his working life in sales related to the construction industry, but those who knew him know how he enjoyed a totally different venture with Pat at The Coffee Loft, then going on to establish the Markham location for the Shed Company which continues today.

Thank you to the staff of 2 Centre (2C) at Markham Stouffville Hospital, who took such good care of Doug. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Markham Stouffville Hospital or Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.

The visitation will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street North, Markham on Monday, November 8^th from 2-4pm and 7-8:30pm.
