I am so sad to hear of Doug's passing he will be greatly missed.
My deepest condolences to Pat and Diana (and family).
Doug will be very much missed by myself and my daughter, Octavia. We spent many wonderful holidays with Pat and Doug (with their daughter Diana and family) and I think Doug and I covered every topic possible to chat. He was a wonderful, gentle and kind man.
May he rest in peace!

I only met Doug about 11 years ago. My mother had passed away and I came to work for the shed business with my father and brother. Doug was always smiling and joking. Doug and Pat both have always been a pleasure to work with and a great contribution to our business. In good and bad times they been there. We will all miss Doug. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time. May he Rest In Peace.
We have made a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society in honour of Doug.
Sincerely,
Christina

Dad,
I love your smile
I love your laugh
I love your sense of humour
I love the way you can whistle a tune
I love the calming tone of your voice
I love the way you call me your girl
These memories will remain in my heart forever
I love you!
I miss you!

My Brother Doug
My first recollection of my big brother Doug was of this tall guy living with us who didn’t appreciate having to babysit me when he was in his late teens. He got even with me many years later when I had to babysit his kids when I was in my teens
For as long as I can remember Doug always took pride in his appearance, he was always well turned out with shiny shoes, and wearing the latest styles.
Doug had a welcoming smile that made you feel good to be around him. He had a positive attitude even when his beloved Toronto Maple Leaf’s disappointed him year after year, and he would just shrug it off and say “It’s going to happen next year”
Doug had a great sense of humour and always managed to smile or even laugh when his brothers would kid him relentlessly.
He was a good guy, a nice guy, a gentle man and, for the most part soft spoken, never quick to anger, in fact I can’t remember him ever showing anger. My brother Doug was a gentle soul never outwardly showing any strains from day to day situations or life’s little problems.
He was always up for anything. (I remember a certain nude calendar he appeared in with Pat) Doug liked being around people and people liked being around Doug I know that’s why he enjoyed sales so much.
His love for his ever clean and shiny cars was only eclipsed by his love for butter tarts an addiction for the sweet stuff that he would never apologise for. He would just smile at you like a little kid, and munch down on any tasty treat going.
It’s very hard to write about your brother at a time like this and can only sum it up by stating that my brother Doug was a nice guy, a considerate person, a good brother, a good sport, a great husband, dad, and grandfather.
Goodbye Doug
Ron
