My bother Tony was the eldest of my 7 brothers and sisters. Being the youngest I watched from a very young age how my brother had to take charge of our famIly.
Our Papa passed away when I was 7 years old and Tony along with our sister Mary shouldered all the major responsibilities with our Mama. From the education of all the younger siblings to supporting or dreams and ambitions Tony was the most loving and supportive brother. Family and values meant everything to him.
Tony left Karachi to start a life for his family in Canada many decades ago but he never forgot his roots. He had a strong love and connection with Goa, our family’s origin and he always kept up with the traditions we grew up with.
From summer holidays in Canada to surprise visits from Tony to Pakistan, my children and I have fond memories of a jovial, generous and loving uncle and brother.
Tony, you never missed calling me and even up until your last birthday, with the help of Alex I was able talk to you and share your special day.
I pray you reach your heavenly resting place.
Your loving little sister Berna
Thank you Dear Alexander for keeping me connected with dad over these last few months.
My deepest sympathies to you, Lorraine and your families as well as the rest of our family.
May our loving Tony rest in eternal peace. Amen.
