Joanne we wish to add our sincere condolences to you, Peter, Becky and the rest of your family for the sudden loss of Stan. Such a good friend whose presence will definitely be missed.
I first met Stan and yourself when I joined the C-I-L "SMID / IR" team at 2 Sheppard in 81 during the Montreal migration. I curled with Stan at the Unionville Curling Club, joined by Simon Langford in our early days, if I recall correctly.
In the early 80's, it was those premier company events (Hockey, Golf Tournaments and of course the "Kirkbride" curling bonspiel that brought all C-I-L employees (from everywhere) together. Stan had a big influence on the success and sociability of the events by providing the best hospitality suite. I include two photos from the D.S.Kirkbride from 1981 and a memorable one from 1984.
