I only recently was made aware of the passing of Noreen and now Phil. Twenty years ago, this wonderful couple were, for a brief period my neighbours. They were caring, compassionate and very kind to myself and my, then, two little boys. I will forever hold a fondness in my heart for them. Life moved on and I lost contact with them, but that didn’t mean I forgot how wonderful they were to myself and the kids. I will forever think of them fondly. Sheila Cole

I have so many fond memories of my Uncle Phil that I will always cherish. Whether it be a visit, a phone call, or an email, he was always engaging and interesting. He always made a point of asking how you and your family was, and interested it what we were up to. And yes, if he knew you were travelling he would make sure that you had to stop at a specific store or restaurant because they had the best scones , butter tarts, apple fritters etc. I always had to stop at “Stoney Creek Dairy” for a peach cobbler sundae when in that area. We always had a great time at family celebrations and events. And yes, like the Grossmith male side, (my self included) he may of had a strong opinion or two ;). I am so grateful to Phil for sharing his life experiences, adventures, and just great stories with me over the years. My heart is heavy with his passing. I will miss him so much, but I will cherish the fact that he was a terrific person and MY UNCLE!
