Shirley was a lovely and gracious lady. She was kind, considerate and polite to me and my family even after my divorce. She was a fantastic grandmother to Malcolm (Ino) and Heather Gray. Rest in Peace wonderful lady.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Shirley. My condolences to her sisters, brothers, children and grandchildren. I have known Shirley since Kids from Hwy 7 going to Franklin St PS. We kept crossing paths and having good chats over many years. Vic and I enjoyed table hopping with Shirley and Jim and other old Markhamites on Friday nights at Goody’s. Good times. It was always great to catch up at events when she catered with John and Joan, During the past few years we would meet each other by chance on Wilson or Water St and stop in our cars to chat. One of the last times I saw Shirley we were both at Markham Auto getting our cars serviced. We talked, shared and listened to each other for so long, both cars were finished but we were not. It was a morning well spent with an old friend. My heart goes out to the family, Shirley was a beautiful, strong woman to be admired.
