Dear Mrs. Bell, Sue and Family, I was very sorry to hear about Mr. Bell,
Laurie and I wish to extend our sincere condolences to all of you as you remember your husband , dad, grandfather and great grandfather. The pictures that you have posted demonstrate the close connection and happy times that all of you shared. May these memories bring you comfort during those difficult times. I will always remember his laugh and his sense of humour when he visited Physiobility. A true gentleman. He was well loved and was well supported by all of you during his more challenging years.
Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you as you remember this kind and happy man.
Sincerely
Corinne, Laurie, Scott and Kristen Roberts

I was shocked to read about Alex’s passing. I have such fond memories of when I was young and visiting The Bells at their home in Victory Village. He will be sadly missed. Our condolences go out to Jean, Sue and Steve and all the extended family! Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. My father Sam Vella and mother Pat Vella were very good friends years ago when my father Sam and Alex joined a partnership in 1972. I remember working in my summers during high school! Sadly missed!

Dear Jean and Family
It's Gail (Williamson) Barkic, your flower girl.
Please accept my sincere condolences upon the death of Alex.
I have so many fond memories of Alex and you and your parents. Just last week, Peter mentioned going to the shop on Pape Avenue and this reminded me of the many times that I stayed with your Mom and Dad (Aunt Marj and Uncle John) at their home. When I was two, I remember Alex piggy backing me upstairs on Thorncliff Ave. to see Grandma Balmer (propped up in her bed). Mom was surprised when I told her about this fond memory with Alex, because I was only 2 years old when Grandma Balmer died. Then of course there was your wedding. I remember the day so well. I showed Peter the photo of you and Alex leaving the church that day and I was off to the right wearing the long dress and with the lace sleeves that were so itchy. If you were married for 69 years, that made me 4 years old at the time. Then I remembered the Balmer picnics and parties. Oftentimes, it was Alex who was organizing the games for the children and adults to play. Alex was always great with the children. Those were the days!
Fond memories of happy times. I hope your memories of the past 69+ years will be with you in the weeks and months ahead.
Send you a hug!
Gail

It was with great sadness that we read of Alex's passing We were next door neighbours to Alex and Jean for many years. They are the best and kindest people you could hope to know. It was always joked about that Alex had lived the proverbial cat's nine lives. He, with Jean's help, survived where many would not have done. A couple of Alex's woodworking efforts exist in our condominium in Don Mills, Ironically our tiny Christmas tree was twinkling on top of one of his tables as I read of Alex's death this morning and brought tears to my eyes.
Our most sincere sympathy goes to Jean and all the Bell families. Alan Rae and Nora Bowman

We are saddened to hear of Alex’s passing. He was a great friend and neighbour for the past 23 years and so well respected by all. I really enjoyed our chats about his interesting career, including his passion for running. Our Emily Glen get togethers were always fun for Alex and for all of us, something we missed this year. He did rebound from several heath setbacks thanks to Jean’s TLC!! We are thinking of you and your family Jean and you can count on our support going forward.
Love, Stuart & Elsie
