Tonette and family
Benji and I have only known you and Lourie since meeting you in FHV. Lourie was a man full of life, there was never a dull moment or a sad face being around him.
I remember our last conversation earlier this month he was always spreading his knowledge and trying to help in what ever area he could.
Jamaica will never be the same without Lourie.......seeing him working in his garden with a glow on his face after his early morning swin at the beach.
Tonette out deepest sympathy to you and your family.
R.I.P. Lourie.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Uncle Laurie. I have nothing but good memories from my childhood with him and the family. The most unforgettable memory is when mom, Lori-Anne and I had returned from the "Icecapades" and I pretended to be asleep so Uncle Laurie could lift me up (to make Lori-Anne jealous lol). He will be missed.
Aunty Tonette and family, I am sending all my love and condolences to each of you.
Love,
Karen Mckenzie (Kar Kar)

It is with sadness that I remember my Godfather, Uncle Laurie. His laugh, his gentleness, the way he'd tease but never make you feel less than, his affection and his love. Sending love, warmth and virtual hugs to the entire family, and especially, Aunty Tonette.

We enjoyed many a good laugh with Laurie and Tonette at our home over the years. Laurie and my Dad and Raymond (The TTC threesome) could sit at the kitchen table and yell at each other for hours, arguing about cars, laughing about their adventures on the buses, and of course Jamaica. Laurie though a cousin, was more like a brother to my Dad. Laurie’s passing has greatly impacted our family dynamic as he was an integral piece.
Laurie’s laughter, smile and compassion will truly be missed by our family, but the memories will live in us till we see him again.
God Bless

The memories cannot be counted. -When I first went to Canada, Uncle Laurie showed great interest in what I was doing in school and our very first outing was to go to a film showing the best television advertisements for that particular year (1990). We had a blast and there was one advertisement where the actor said “can I have one squash?” which became our signature line resulting in fits of laughter. -We went to the car show for about 10 years straight. Sometimes I would call in sick at work, to go with Uncle Laurie and then we would stealthily avoid all television cameras so that we would not end up in the background of the television news (so that I would not get caught by my boss). -When he broke his leg and was stuck at home, bored out of his mind, I offered to drive him to go see his friends down the road. When I got him laid out in the back seat, we had to pass the insurance investigator, who was watching to ensure that Uncle Laurie wasn’t committing insurance fraud. Uncle Laurie gave a big wave to the insurance investigator. -Thank you for the wonderful memories Uncle Laurie. You have taught me that stepping out of the straight and narrow box of life, is okay (once I don’t break the law). Going to miss calling you with my customer jokes and laughing at your own jokes. Always in my heart.
