We will greatly miss Aunt Joyce at our yearly Serbian Christmas Celebrations in January.
She would always bring her Jelly Salad.
She was a great part of our Schroeter Family Reunions as there only were the "Dick" Schroeters and her nephew the "Gerhard" Schroeters.
As a child I always felt special that she chose to take me along fpr the Royal Winter Fair, as Janet & I shared the same interests.
Then later she would include me in attendance at the Toronto Eaton's Centre Fashion Shows! I didn't even know there was this fabulous hall upstairs!
When our daughter Viki attended James Robinson Public School Special Ed Class. she was constantly corrected to address the teacher at the corner room as "Mrs. Schroeter" - "No" she said, "That's my Auntie Joyce!" (the school relented!)
I miss the telephone conversations that would sometimes go on for hours. That changed when she moved to Peterborough.
Aunt Joyce . . . You were a great lady! A wealth of information and understanding.
You are in our hearts always.
Love & Light Gerlind, Dane & Family Milich

Although technically she was my Dad's Aunt; she was my only Aunt here in Canada.
I remember going to their home for dinner and playing billiards, snuggling with the puppy.
And listening to stories from both Aunt Joyce and my Uncle Dick.
It was always exciting going there, to play with Cousin Edward.
I remember everyone saying to me "Oh your mom the teacher!" and I replied "Nope that's my Aunt!"
She was a wonderful woman, energitic and just so full of life - she will be missed and remembered!

To the Shroeter family,
I am so sorry to read of your Mom's passing. I grew up in Mount Joy, and remember your Mom as a part time teacher a number of times. I also remember that Stephen was ahead of me at school and I think Janet was behind me at Franklin Street Street.
You have my deepest sympathies as you go through this difficult time

To the Schroeter family, I offer you my condolences. I remember Mrs. Schroeter fondly, as she was my Grade 2 teacher at James Robinson Public School in the early 1970's. I have never forgotten how she took the entire class to the Main Street (we walked in those days) for an art class. All 30+ students sat on the sidewalk in front of various houses sketching some of Markham's most treasured older homes. So very sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Schroeter.
