Norma,
So sorry for your loss. Please extend my condolences to your family.
I fondly remember playing baseball with Brian on Cal's (Calathumpians) baseball team in Unionville's Slow-Pitch League 30 years ago. We had lots of fun and a few brown pops as well.
When I attended my first PCCN meeting, I was pleasantly surprised and relieved to see you and Brian there. It sure helped me to accept and to deal with my diagnosis.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Best regards, Gord

My deep condolences to Brian's family. I was one of Brian's IBM colleagues, and at several times during our career paths we worked together on a variety of projects. He had a kind and infectious manner about him that always helped us work towards a successful conclusion. He was always upbeat even after he had setbacks. He always looked forward. After I retired in 2009 we kept in touch and met for lunch once or twice a year at his favourite places in Unionville. This is how I learned a much deeper dimension about him, his activities, his love of family, and his outlook on his retirement. I learned much, had great advice, and found his perspective always gave me more to consider.
My condolences to his family. My condolences to his extended family, and his community of social and work friends. We will miss him.

Brian was my husband, Dave's best friend - the best man at our wedding. I have so many fond memories over the past 40 years - August long weekends at the Honkerosa, weekends in Muskoka at the cottage and Ripley for the fall fair, skiing weekends in Ellicottville, Red Pine Camp, trips to Barbados and Dominican Republic. He was always lots of fun and a great friend. He will be truly missed by all of us who knew him.

Dear Mahoney family. I only had the pleasure of knowing Brian for these past 3 years or so but his genuineness imprinted upon me what a great individual he was, professionally and personally. He had such an infectious personality that one could not help but to be drawn to him.
I am sure you have many fond memories to share with each other of Brian. I wish you the best of times in cherishing and embracing them and each other.
My thoughts are with you and your family.

To the Mahoney Family, it has been a great honour, experience and friendship that I shared with Brian. He had this resilience about him that said, no problem forge on. He did it with a smile, a chuckle or 3 and a couple of jokes to round it all out.
I am sure that he was no different with us than he was with all of you because his integrity was admired the most and he protected with vigilance.
I wish you all the wonderful memories.

Brian was an inspiration. Reflecting on the years we worked together, Brian was forever the optimist. His upbeat and positive outlook set a tone for the rest of us. My most vivid memories were the mornings. Brian would blast into the office with the same level of energy and relentless enthusiasm every day. It was hard not to get swept up with his corny jokes, humour and outlook on life. Brian's passing is a great loss. He will be sadly missed. Always remembered for how he brightened the days of so many of his colleagues.

Sending condolences to the entire family during this difficult time. My mom sends her love to you all, too. "So sorry for your loss," she says. Brian and I worked together at IBM for several years when he was in a business development role. He always had a positive outlook, and a can do attitude towards any situation. He had a way of taking complex and stress causing situations and getting it under control and make everyone around him feel comfortable that it was now under control. He will be missed. My condolences to Brian's family and friends.

I am very sorry to hear this sad news. My sincere condolences to family members and friends who knew Brian well. He will be missed. I worked with Brian many years ago at IBM. I first got the opportunity to work with him in 2005. We were literally thrown together to work on a business strategy for a specific industry play. The outcome was very positive and the guidance I received from Brian was invaluable. Our paths crossed many times after that, both at IBM and after I left IBM. Every time we interacted it was pleasant and productive. I always referenced Brian as the classic IBM Salesperson, the benchmark to compare all other sales people. Sharp, focused, funny and blunt- good or bad he would always let you know what he was thinking. He was always able to see “that” specific tree in the forest. He was truly one of a kind and I am thankful I had the opportunity to experience him. I will miss my friend.
Out of respect, I will post this on my Facebook page and the IBM Canada Retiree Facebook page.

Norma, Jeff and Laura, I am very sorry to read this very sad news.
Of course we knew Brian well, first meeting Brian with you Norma as we worked together and then of course because we lived on the same street and our families became close. I will always remember Brian as the perfect gentleman always having something friendly to say and always showing his pride when talking about his children. Jeff and Laura you and your family are Brian's greatest legacy. Please know that we are thinking of you and accept our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time.
