To friends and family, I am sorry for your loss. I know Rob from the George Lake Big Band, to whom he contributed much of the band's wit, class, character, and sound. I'll wear a hat in his honour at the Rex next Saturday.

My condolences to Rob's family. Rob was a friend back in our high school and college days. I have fond memories of driving to/from Humber College daily in my VW Beetle with Rob + trombone, Andy + guitar, and Dave + drumsticks! I willl never forget Rob's sincere and warm charm, constant good nature and big hugs.

My condolences to all of Rob’s family and friends. We were grateful to get to know Rob, Larkin, Kieran and Declan while they were on Six Mile Lake. Rob was an amazing friend to my sister Cindy. Fond memories of Rob’s boat pulling into the dock—we knew lots of laughter would follow. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you all, Laura Matthews.

One of the nicest, coolest, most talented men in Toronto. I loved working with him in the George Lake Big Band and he was a much-loved member. We always had a special rapport, always gave me a nod or heads up when my vocals went particularly well, and I am heartsick at this news. His smile, his energy, his humour and kindness (and hipness) won't be soon forgotten. An out-of-town gig prevents me from being there in person, as I wanted to, but I send my deepest condolences to his wife Larkin, sons Kieran and Declan and the entire family, as well as his vast number of friends. We'll miss you Rob. I sure hope they have big bands in heaven.

My deepest condolences to the Scott Family on the loss of a true local hero . Rob and I met in the band at George S. Henry Secondary School - many, many years ago. Rob's joy of life was contagious and his passion for making people smile a true gift. I have very fond memories of our band days along with his dedication to the production of the Henry Year Book when I was the editor. Many laughs were shared during our time at George S. Henry and I always knew Rob would be there for me, willing to help, all I had to do is ask. Although our paths did not cross often after high school, Rob's memory will live on.
Sincerely, Francine Rubin

Rob was very welcoming to me whenever I filled in on trombone with various big bands here in Toronto. He liked my Seafaring stories - well, at least he LISTENED whilst I droned on about the wonders of a single cabin... I'm very sorry to learn that he's passed on. My sincere condolences to Rob's family.

So saddened to hear of Rob's passing. He was my only golfing friend who could execute the Happy Gilmore three-step slapshot off the tee ;) I also admired his musical talent and good nature. My warmest thoughts are with the family.

I lived a few houses away from Rob when we went to George S Henry School. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. He put so much positive energy into music! My deepest condolences for his family.

Dear Scott family: You don't know me. I knew your Dad when he was a teenager and we had met as we were both music teaching assistants at the North York Music School almost 45 years ago when we were in grades 12 and 13. We went to different high schools, but occasionally would run into each other in various musical ensembles or organizations. Year later, I would meet Declan when I was adjudicating at the Ontario Band Festival - Chamber Music Festival. He happened to be one of the trumpet players in a Brass Quintet from Markham District H.S. The musical talent was there just as it was with Rob. Even as a teenager, Rob was a wonderful young man, optimistic, had integrity and was a true gentleman. My sincerest condolences to you all at this very sad time. He will never be forgotten.

My condolences to the family. Rob was caring and thoughtful and always wore a smile for all to see. His love for music and playing trombone was felt by the musicians he played with. Gone way too soon Rob, you were one of the best!

Dear Scott family -- I'll always have fond memories of Rob as a musical colleague. He played in our Wednesday night big-band from about 2016-2018, and we all greatly appreciated both his playing and his approach to the music. I was devastated to hear of his passing. I hope you can all take comfort in many happy memories.
