Sincerest condolences to Elenor and to your mom. Elenor, I was surprised to see the photograph of your dad and seeing how much you look like him. I am so sorry for your great loss. We were just talking a few weeks ago about your hopes and dreams and they included your parents. Thinking of you both at this incredibly difficult time.

My heartfelt and sincere condolences to all the members of John's family! John was a wonderful person!
He was definitely a part of our "family", at the Markham Village Branch, of the Markham Public Library, and he will be missed a lot! It is hard to accept that we won't see John on his frequent visits to our branch, and won't be able to share jokes, news, comments on the weather, and so much more, with him, anymore!
John showed his appreciation of life, and others --- his friendly personality was infectious! Memories of him will make him live on!
Sincerely,
Maxine

Dear Eleanor & Delores,
Our days at the Markham Village Library will be a little less cheerful now that John won't be there to give us a bit of Irish wit, some news or comment that was always interesting. We looked forward to his nearly daily visits and he would always bring up the Irish newspapers on the web to see what was happening. John was a real good friend to all of us and we will miss him. God Bless him....a man we will never forget!!

Dear Dolores and Eleanor,
Please accept my condolences to both of you on the passing of John. He was our neighbour on Reeve Drive and a regular part of our life on Main Street at T&T and the lottery store. He was funny, personable, and charming. May he rest in eternal peace.
Sincerely,
John Carruthers

What a shock to hear about dear John. Our deepest thoughts and prayers to your family. I first met John in our neighbourhood UPS store and found a great friend! We've met several times over the years and found mutual interests with each other! Plus, a love of Italian cooking at our 'Calabria' visits. John and i shared many conversations about the Old Country, & WW2. I found John most enlightening and had such a friendly way about him throughout our many visits with each other. I will surely miss him, and his life lessons and wit.
With sincere condolences, and prayers. Jack & Barbara Paley

We were shocked and saddened to hear of John's passing. He would often slip us the company Leaf tickets for my kids to go to their first game. We would often see him walking across the park to get his 'Globe' and I'd always kid him about how he could live here so long yet still keep his Irish accent! Always a joke and a bit of Irish wit would be his response. Our condolences to his family... John will be missed.

I am saddened by the news .
As a young photo business employee at Blackphoto, I would look forward to the visits from the knowledgeble reps to keep us updated on the latest product. My "idols" were John Shaw and Graham Turner from Canon. The epitome of honesty , integrity . I could tell they loved what they did for a living. I wanted to emulate them someday. It is all about the people in sales, John's kindness and warm handshake were his trademarks.
I was fortunate enough to learn many things from John and valued his friendship for many years. I am a better person because of it.
Thanks, John , I will miss you.

Truly a gentleman in every sense!
My sincerest condolences to the family.
John ,always the professional ,and he had a wonderful sense of humor.
As I recall; me as a young sales guy at Canon in 1980 ,and John sharing his insights and expertise on...… "hand pushed " lawnmowers ! LOL.
I will always think of John an absolutely super human being !
And if there are any lawns to cut in Heaven they found their man!

So sad to hear of the passing of such a wonderful, kind, funny, uplifting gentleman. While I hadn't seen John in years, his beautiful memory will be with me always. My sincere condolences. And now my mom, Joan Lepard, along with a few other Canon family members will be with John in Heaven.
