My dearest friend Julie. Where to start? From family gatherings on Calderon to camping, to trips to wasaga, to the numerous sleep overs and basement parties, I have so many happy memories of your beautiful, hilarious and cool mother. The delicious breakfasts they’d prepare for us after they’d come back after a good Saturday and/or Sunday morning of garage sale shopping. Thin European pancakes that seemed so sophisticated to me at 12 years old.
Never forget some of the Mrs. Zakhar-isms I’ve shared with you like, “Oh, charming, Bugger, Fancy that’ and, “oh, no more raw onions”. Happy memories of her at your special birthdays, graduations, and other family celebrations. I know your mother was always so very proud of the glorious woman you were developing into and became.
You’ve had such a long good—bye with her, not that you ever complained. Where you found the endurance and strength I’ll never know. Her longevity and good health speaks volumes of your loving care and compassion.
She is finally free. Rejoice in the beauty of her release. You will always feel each other’s love - that will never end. May your heart and soul be filled with peace and love.

May the many memories and stories about Nora which have been, and which will continue to be shared, be a source of healing and comfort for all of you. Perhaps she and Anne have found each other and are enjoying a cup of tea together!
In thought and prayer at this time and always.

I am sad that Auntie Nora has passed on and have spent time drawing on my memories of her, the earliest of which was when my brother Martin and I went to stay with her at Fletton while my sister Lynne was born. She had a sketch book of horses she had drawn and other drawings to admire.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers,
With love

My Mom passed today and this strange feeling of not having the anchor and safety net of my life source is a powerful loss.
My Mom taught me so many things but some are quite simple pleasures.
When we immigrated to Canada in 1949 she taught me how to swim in Lake Ontario as it was now in our backyard. Her passion for opera and ballet was a life's appreciation for the Arts.
She loved the outdoors, nature and all the animals in it.
Without lessons for either she painted beautiful pictures and played the piano by ear.
She left me so many treasures. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Mom. Your loving daughter Tam.
