Obituary of Mary "Betty" Elizabeth Courage

Courage, Mary Elizabeth (Betty)

June 15, 1925 – December 4, 2018

Courage, Betty (née Bradley), 93 years old, passed away at Walden Circle Retirement Living, Mississauga.  She passed quietly with the same grace with which she lived a long and productive life and gentle decline with dementia. Betty was predeceased by husband Pat Courage. She leaves her children Susan, Bill (Sonya Mount), Jane (Dan Breitman) and Sally (Aivy Reinfelds) and grandchildren Gordon (Stephanie Doucet), Douglas and Holly (Curtis McBurney) McMillan, Tierney and Fletcher Courage, Chris and Emily Reinfelds and great granddaughter Elizabeth McBurney. Also loved and missed by her step-grandchildren Laura (Owen), Jackie (Bill) Ian (Ayse) and Kenneth (Julie Jardine) McMillan and families. Born in Ottawa, raised in Carleton Place, Betty and Pat lived in Toronto, near Stouffville on Morraine Farm and then Unionville. Betty was a nurse (alumnus of the Montreal General), accomplished and loving mother, Stouffville CHATS Program Coordinator, and fiber artisan. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Walden Circle who have cared for Betty over the last three years. Visitation will be held on December 9, 2018 at 1:00pm with service to follow in the chapel at 2:00pm at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main St N, Markham, ON L3P 1Y3. A private interment will take place at a later date.
