Floyd Stouffer Forsyth
Born March 29, 1919, on the original family homestead in Uxbridge Township, Durham County, Ontario and passed away peacefully at Woodhaven in Markham on November 10,2018 in his 100th year. Floyd was the son of the late Levi and Louie Forsyth (Stouffer) and beloved husband of the late Reita Forsyth (nee Wells) for 68 years. Loving Father of Elaine Stover (Ron) and Wayne Forsyth (Debbie deceased 2016) and Grandfather to Suzanne (Steve), Scott ( Sandra), Chris (Cara) , Leandre and Lisa. Beloved Poppy to Jennifer, Will, Kate, Thomas, Addison, Mackenzie and Miller, who will miss his constant love and support. Pre-deceased by his sisters, Lola (Earl) Hoover and Alice (Lloyd) Hamm. Fondly remembered by the entire Wells, Hoover and Hamm families. Floyd was born into a family with deep roots in the farming community and the Forsyth family was recently recognized for 150 years of farming in York Region. A member of Stouffville United Church and Church Choir and more recently, the Lemonville United Church, Floyd lived his life in accordance with the teachings of his Lord. His mild manner and genuine care for the others will be remembered by those who had the good fortune to know him. Very special thanks from the family to the Staff members at Stouffville Creek Residence and Markham Woodhaven facility for their kind, compassionate care. Friends and family will be received at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street N. Markham Road, Markham, on Wednesday November 14, from 5-8 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service in the chapel on Thursday November 15, 2018 at 11:00. Internment at Stouffville Cemetery . In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or favourite church or charity would be appreciated by the family.
