As a kid Jim loved Greek myths and when he described the adventures of our circle of friends growing up it was like the pages of Homer. Markham Township was an empire, Kasshabog Lake a hidden fortress, and there was no palace finer than an apartment looking out on the lights of Yonge Street. Eventually we became husbands and fathers, and, like Odysseus, we realized that therein lie the only treasures truly worth struggling for. I will always remember Jim as having the voice of Orpheus, the loyalty of Achilles, and a wit as keen and sharp as the king of Ithaca.

Jim was a unique. Even as a young man in High School, you could see that he was a thoughtful and inclusive person. He had a special way with people - Always tried to bring out their strengths and looked for the humour in every situation. I am deeply saddened to learn that he is gone, but want his family to know he was loved from afar.

Our deepest condolences go out to Tish, Richard and Caiden as well as all of Jims family and friends. I met Jim in high school in Markham and we had some great times back in the day... some things that can't be published here lol. Jim was a great guy, smart, funny, and would help you out in a time of need. Jim loved his music and many concerts were attended with him. When we graduated from high school and went on to university, life became more involved.... career, marriage, kids, ect. I regret that I didn't try to find the time to hang out more like the old days, but alas, this is a dilemma faced by many.
I am still in shock and blown away by the news of Jim's passing. The absolute suddenness of it makes you appreciate the little things in life a little more. I will never forget you Jim and you will always be there in my memory. I hope the ride on the other side is as fun as it was here.
