Parkland PS would not have been the same without Joy’s abilities. Organizational abilities, good judgement and common sense were all tempered by Joy’s humanity and compassion. We had an office children enjoyed visiting and we had secretaries they enjoyed talking to. I too enjoyed working with Joy and even though it has been a long time, I still remember her with affection and admiration. My condolences go out to her family in their hour of sorrow.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathy at the passing of Joy. As your neighbours for the past 30 plus years, we have many fond memories of Joy and her giving nature. They include Joy's famous meatballs served on Christmas Eve, her intricate gingerbread houses and home made pizza recipes to name a few. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Joy's passing. We had enjoyed years of playing cards once a month, and I thought of her frequently after she had to quit. I always had the impression she was part of the centerpiece of a strong, close family. My prayers are for all of you at this time.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Joy. From the time the brand new doors of Boxwood P.S. first opened in 2000, Joy was a huge part of that school. Her quick wit, efficiency and ‘no nonsense’ remarks were famous in the office, but underneath was a very kind and caring person who thought the world of her family. My deepest condolences.
